Handmade Damascus Karambit Knives

The karambit began in Southeast Asia as a farming tool, and its curved blade is still what sets it apart. The claw shape pulls through rope, cord and other tough material with more control than a straight edge. Every Damascus karambit here is hand-forged by our own smiths in Wazirabad, Pakistan, and shipped from our fulfillment center in Texas, so the layered pattern on each blade is one of a kind.

What to look for in a karambit

  • A finger-ring pommel that keeps the knife steady in your hand.
  • Spine filework or jimping that gives your thumb a firm place to rest.
  • A sheath shaped to the curve, so the edge stays covered when you carry it.

Choose your size and handle

  • 8-inch karambits: our standard size, with blue wood, black wood, or resin and brass handles.
  • 8.5-inch karambit: a fuller 4-inch grip in red wood for larger hands.
  • 10-inch karambit bowie: the karambit curve with the weight of a bowie and a steel ring pommel.

Each one comes with a fitted sheath. Shipping is free on all US orders, and most orders arrive in 3–5 business days.

A collector's piece and a gift

Karambits are a favorite with knife collectors and outdoorsmen, and a popular groomsman gift. If you want one made to your own size, steel or handle, visit our custom orders page.

Damascus Karambit FAQ

What is a karambit used for today?

Mostly as an everyday utility and outdoor knife for cutting rope, cord and packaging, and as a collector's knife for its unusual shape.

How do I care for a Damascus karambit?

Wipe it dry after use, oil the blade now and then, and don't keep it in the leather sheath for long periods, because leather holds moisture. Our knife care guide has the full steps.

Can I carry a karambit?

Knife laws differ by state and city, so please check your local rules before you carry. You must be 18 or older to order.

Do you ship outside the US?

Ready-to-ship knives go to US addresses only.
