- Immediate cleaning — wash and dry straight after use. Do not rub the blade roughly; use a soft microfiber or cotton cloth
- Environmental protection — store in a dry interior space, away from extreme moisture or temperature swings. The natural rosewood handle in particular benefits from climate stability
- Long-term storage — clean and wax or oil the blade regularly, then store in a box or padded case to keep it rust-free

Damascus steel is high-carbon and can spot or patina if left wet. Keep the blade clean, dry, and lightly oiled. Hand-wash and dry kitchen knives immediately after use — never leave them soaking or run them through a dishwasher.
